As a (pacifist) eco-warrior myself, his story was right up my alley. I had to do something a bit striking for it.

The cover story was about green-washing companies: earth-polluting corporations that front themselves as eco-friendly. Extol the tree they plant and hide the rainforest they fell. That sort of thing.

An otherwise pretty flower wilts when it’s covered in oil. Concept, setup, lighting and retouching by me. This was shot is my shed with a very unprofessional setup. Our budget was very tight. It’s the professional result that counts.
